A Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Apprenticeship program with the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), which includes a trio of 鶹ɫƬ MRI program students, was among several health care apprenticeship programs recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor during the Registered Apprenticeship Programs Certification and Signing Ceremony in January at the UTMB Health Education Center.

GC’s MRI program students participating in the apprenticeship program are Makenzie Walser, Kayleigh Gladden and Samantha Marek. All three GC students attended the ceremony.

“鶹ɫƬ is always looking to provide our students with learning opportunities and the MRI Apprenticeship program at UTMB is one of them,” said GC Allied Health Division Director, Daniel Fink. “We are proud of our MRI students participating in the apprenticeship program. They are gaining valuable hands-on experience which they will be able to use in their careers.”

GC’s MRI Program Director, Hong Mai, accompanied the college’s three students at the ceremony.

“This is a great way for our students to learn outside of the classroom,” said Mai. “We appreciate the opportunity UTMB has extended to our 鶹ɫƬ health care students through the apprenticeship program and look forward to continuing our partnership.”
