The majority of the 鶹ɫƬ Law Enforcement Academy Cadet Class 11(D) was hired by the Galveston and La Marque Police Departments before celebrating their graduation ceremony in late January.
“I saw nine individuals start the Law Enforcement Academy and watched them come together into a cohesive unit,” said GC LEA Director, Bart Stephenson. “They helped one another, studied together and bonded as a team during their time in the academy, and I’m proud of what they accomplished.”
In all, five cadets were hired by GPD and three by LPD. The nine graduating cadets were Jared Ball, Cody Bretting, Dalton Brochstein, Lacey Bunting, Alyssa Castillo, Cody Clement, Alexandra Demack, Cristian Narvaez and Tangynekeia Williams.
Clement was awarded the LEA’s Top Gun Award, while Brochstein was class valedictorian. Brochstein was selected as valedictorian based on his academic success as he maintained the highest grade point average in the class.
The keynote speaker for the graduation ceremony was GPD Chief Doug Balli, who provided the graduating cadets with words of encouragement as they embarked on their journey as law enforcement officers.
