鶹ɫƬ hosted the Galveston Chapter of the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) fall “Surf’s Up for Coding” medical coding symposium on Sept. 30 in the college’s Abe and Annie Seibel Wing.

 

More than 60 attendees enjoyed a full day of training and informational sessions on medical coding and other industry trends. In addition, attendees learned about various medical coding specialties, as well as medical coding training programs and associate and bachelor’s degree program information.

“We were honored to host this symposium in support of our local AAPC chapter,” said Donna Swartz, 鶹ɫƬ Division Director of Industrial and Applied Technology and Medical Administration Program Director. “The partnership between our local medical coding professionals and 鶹ɫƬ is vital to the success of our program. The symposium provides invaluable networking and subject matter exposure for our students.”

 

鶹ɫƬ was also represented at the symposium by GC Medical Administration Advisory Committee chairperson, Errol Jones, five alumni and a current student.
