Â鶹ɫÇéƬ will feature an exhibition of recent ceramic art by Linnis Blanton through Thursday, April 5, in the third floor Fine Arts Gallery at Â鶹ɫÇéƬ, 4015 Avenue Q, Galveston, Texas. The gallery is open during regular college hours.

Blanton is a southeast Texas native and adjunct instructor of ceramics at Lamar University. He received his B.S. and B.F.A. from Lamar University, and worked as an art teacher in the Port Arthur Independent School District for 30 years.

Blanton is well known throughout the area for his ceramic vessels and sculptures that subconsciously reference figurative subjects and the organic elements of the natural world in his shape, texture and form. The exhibition will focus on recent works by the artist.

There will be a closing reception on April 5 from 6-8 p.m. in the gallery. The public is invited.
